Short description: Lab Data Escape Room is a team-based educational escape room where students use data analysis to stop a mysterious virus in a steampunk laboratory.

Project description:

This Escape Room is a physical, team-based educational escape room designed for students aged 15–18 that aims to strengthen data literacy through playful, story-driven learning. Set in a steampunk-styled research laboratory, the scenario centers on a mysterious virus that slowly turns people into snails. Participants must analyze scientific charts, interpret datasets, and solve interconnected puzzles to understand how the virus spreads and recover the cure before time runs out. The project combines STEM content, narrative problem-solving, and collaborative gameplay to make abstract data concepts tangible and engaging. Through playtesting and evaluation, the project explores how experiential, game-based learning can improve critical thinking, teamwork, and the practical understanding of data in an age-appropriate and motivating way.
