Short description: A soothing VR gardening game that links sustainability and therapy, helping players build focus and emotional balance.

Project description:

Edelweiss Valley is an immersive first-person VR mini-game developed within the GreenTouch project at FH St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. Set in an Austrian garden and farm environment, the game combines ecological education with therapeutic goals from ergotherapy. Players perform relaxing, meaningful tasks such as planting, watering, composting, and recycling to restore environmental health while improving focus, and coordination. Through accessible interactions and calming low-poly visuals, the game fosters mindfulness and awareness of sustainability. Therapists observe and guide sessions via a PC interface, ensuring adaptability to each client’s needs. Built in Unity 6 using the XR Interaction Toolkit, Greening the City aims to create an engaging, evidence-based experience that supports rehabilitation and environmental learning, with project completion scheduled for January 9, 2026.
