Short description: HISTORIA VIRTUALIS is an immersive, short, cooperative VR experience for three players who interact in the same physical space.
Project description:
- [ ] Meta Quest´s features are being unfolded to a new extent in HISTORIA VIRTUALIS. In this game a group of players solve challenges and collaborate, utilizing state of the art implementations. The game lets you experience the past while using future technology, making it today´s reality. This short, cooperative VR experience allows three players to immerse themselves in the same virtual space. Players take on the roles of citizens of Roman St. Pölten (Aelium Cetium) in Austria, and must work together to achieve a shared goal: baking a loaf of bread. The application provides a co-located, room-scale VR experience using Unity and Netcode for GameObjects (NGO) for network synchronization. To establish a shared coordinate system, the host player uses Meta’s Shared Spatial Anchors (SSA) to define a shared origin anchored in the physical room. This SSA data is then synchronized across all headsets.
