Short description: An experimental prototype that turns AI outputs into task-specific, functional user interfaces instead of text.
Project description:
GenOS explores a new way of interacting with generative AI by shifting the focus from text-based outputs to dynamically generated user interfaces. While most current AI systems respond with long, linear text, GenOS translates user intent directly into functional UI structures that are tailored to the specific task. Depending on the prompt, the system generates interfaces such as planners, cards, tabs, timelines or lists instead of paragraphs.
The project addresses a common usability problem: users often need to manually restructure AI-generated text to make it actionable. GenOS removes this step by presenting information in an immediately usable form.
The prototype demonstrates several use cases, including weekly planning, recipes, workouts and learning scenarios, showing how different inputs lead to different interface layouts. The project is implemented as an interactive Figma prototype and is designed to be explored hands-on.
